Construction Behind the Scenes

This team is hard at work every week in every possible way.

We love seeing and showing others the construction progress at the Casa de Gracia site.

But what goes on behind the scenes each and every day is also worth mentioning! Honestly, it is an impressive amount of work with trainings, design meetings, program development and so on!

For Example;

We are intentionally equipping ourselves in areas of trauma based care, mentoring and discipling. In 2025 our team completed the Biblical Mentorship course through Nicodemus Ministries as well as the Competent Caregivers in Trauma Course offered through Iniciativas de Alcanzce.

We now have scheduled, beginning this December, further work with the leaders of Nicodemus to develop and finalize our specific plan for mentors and mentoring of the young people we will work with. In January 2026, we begin our next 14 weeks of Trauma training at the next, more intense level.

As a team, we have a a timeline sketched out to finish the curriculum for our programs. Part of this includes final edits, formatting and making sure each unit of each module is well written in both Spanish and English.

The time line also includes meetings with local churches to make needed connections for the young people in our program. It is one of our primary pilars to make sure that each young person finds a local church to become involved in.

Also included in this timeline is visiting or revisiting the different homes and refuges around the country that are part of the systems of protection our young people will come to us from.

In addition to all of that, there are all kinds of necessary documents being created, an open house being planned for February, site visits with teams and visitors being planned and coordinated. Meetings with partners that are helping support Casa de Gracia in various ways.

There are are the ongoing design meetings with our amazing architect and site manager, Byron Chali. He is a truly invaluable part of this team.

And finally, we can’t leave out Communications! We are doing our best to communicate all that God is doing here through social media outlets, podcasts on our Spotify account, videos on our YouTube channel and blog posts here on our website.
