Kicking Off 2026 - Don’t Lose Communication with the Control Tower!

Our Casa de Gracia team enjoyed our 2nd annual All-Day Retreat to kick off our new year together!

It was a day full of planning, praying, and preparing our hearts and minds for the year ahead of us.

And we needed it, it's gonna be a huge year!

We spent time talking about books we want to read together on Godly wisdom and Gospel based leadership principles and other ways to keep our hearts and minds focused on our Lord and His plan as the year progresses and life gets crazier!

There was much updating, project planning plus brainstorming and troubleshooting sessions that will keep us busy in our weekly meetings for some time to come as we work through the topics we discussed and now need to work to create protocols for.

But honestly our highlights were hearing from Rich and Edwin’s hearts.

Rich talked us through some biblical leadership principles to help guide us and keep us grounded in the Lord and His purposes as the years pass.

Edwin then shared with us something God has placed on his heart to help keep our minds focused and our hearts in tune with the Lord.

He talked about a pilot whose first and foremost rule was to never ever lose communication with the control tower, no matter what. Then one day a situation occurred and he had to make a choice to lose communication for a very short time or shut down a different part of the operating system. He chose to lose communication for a short time. In that short time the plane got off course ever so slightly but enough to have to divert and make an emergency landing elsewhere than planned.

This is such a powerful picture for us.

We can never forget this for a minute. We must never prioritize anything more than our humble dependence on the Lord and His voice guiding us every day in every step.

He is our control tower. He sees what we cannot. We can’t finish well if we get off course.

Pray with us that we never lose our focus and never stop listening to the voice of the Lord.

May we seek to follow Him faithfully and obediently in this mission He’s given us!

We praise God for the work He has given us and the team He has given us to do it with!

2025 was truly amazing and 2026 is already looking great!
