Looking Ahead…time to Get the House Ready!

It’s crazy to see how much progress has happened since March of this year, 2025!

And now we are realizing how fast these next 6 months will fly past us and suddenly it will be June and time for the Smith Family to move into the lower home and get everything ready to begin receiving girls in the months that follow.

So while we have all been working hard as a team to get the program ready, make needed connections within the systems of protection around the country, equip ourselves with critical trainings, and create all the necessary documents, we also need to fundraise and furnish these homes!

We decided to create three different wish lists for everything we know (or believe) we will need for the houses and for the girls!

1) We have wish lists for items of furniture for the bedrooms, the kitchens, the living spaces, the bathrooms…(appliances, mattresses, tables, chairs, sofas ,etc) {donation link to buy in country}

2) We have wish lists for the Welcome Kits we want to make for the day each girl arrives. These items include Bibles, journals, pens, highlighters, coffee mug. {Amazon wish list & Donation link}

3) We have wish lists for items for the small ‘store’ we will have on site for the girls to go to for items they will need immediately upon arrival. These items include sheets, pillows, towels, personal under garments and basic clothing, hygiene products, etc. {Amazon wish list & Donation link}

If you have visited the Casa de Gracia site at any point or been following along with us in this adventure via videos, photos and social media, you know what a truly Big Deal this is for all of us!

You've probably heard us talk about things we Know we will Need to provide for the girls upon their arrival. We have also talked about the things we Want to provide for them in order that from their first moments at Casa de Gracia, they begin to feel a love and dignity that they may not yet have known.

For instance,

• We want to have a simple selection of sheets and towels so they can choose a color or pattern they like rather than the institutional white they have likely always been assigned.

• We want them to have their own new pillow, not just an old, used one.

• And we absolutely want them to have their own mattress, likely for the first time in their life. Again, not something old and used, but theirs as part of their first steps into a new life!

• We will need to have a selection of bathroom, hygiene and basic clothing items that they will not likely have with them upon arrival.

• We want to have welcome kits that will include a Bible, journal, pens, highlighters, coffee mugs, etc

  
  

  These are just a few things that we have been dreaming of for these girls.

  Of course, we’ve got to furnish the homes as well!

  So with all of this in mind, we are inviting you to join us! Let’s get these homes furnished and all the details ready for these girls!
